“Mick … Send me a butterfly” by Lorraine Grennan
Mick Grennan was faced with an unusual challenge as a seven-year-old child and showed tremendous determination for a young boy. As a nineteen-year-old lad he again showed great courage when confronted with Leukaemia. Organizing his own ‘Pre-Wake Party’, his inspiration to his family, friends and all who knew him continued to shape the lives of his family, especially his mother, who, after his death becomes a comfort and friend to numerous bereaved parents, through her voluntary work with The Compassionate Friends. ‘Mick … Send me a butterfly’, is an extremely frank, open and honest presentation of that journey.
